US Embassy in Moscow Suspends Nonimmigrant Visa Processing

U.S. Mission in Russia has announced a suspension of all nonimmigrant visa (NIV) operations across Russia beginning August 23, 2017. Starting September 1, 2017, all nonimmigrant visa interviews will only be conducted at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. Nonimmigrant visa interviews at the U.S. Consulates in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and Vladivostok will remain suspended until further notice.
US Embassy Khartoum Resumes Immigrant Visa Processing

U.S. Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan has announced the resumption of immigrant visa processing in Sudan. Starting in July 2015, applicants for all categories of immigrant visas, including Immediate Relatives (IR) Non-Preference Family, FiancÚ visa (K visas), and Diversity Visa Lottery winners will be able to interview and process their immigrant visas in Khartoum, Sudan.
UPDATE: E Visa Processing In Mexico

U.S. Embassy, Mexico, has announced changes to E visa application processing in Mexico. Under the new procedure for E visas in Mexico, effective for all applications received in Applicant Service Centers for E visas in Mexico on or after July 07, 2015, E-1 visa processing will be handled by the Consulates General in Monterrey and Tijuana; and E-2 visa processing will be handled by the Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez.
New NIV Interview Appointment System at U.S. Embassy, Paris

The U.S. Embassy in Paris has announced that it will transition to a new and improved visa appointment system on July 31, 2014. Starting July 31, nonimmigrant visa applicants will have the option of paying the visa application fee via debit card or bank transfer. Further, passports with visas and other documents will be returned to applicants by a courier service at no cost to the applicant and can be tracked online.
US Mission in Italy Transitioning to a New Appointment System

The U.S. Mission in Italy has announced that beginning July 15th 2013, the U.S. Embassy in Rome, and U.S. Consulates in Florence, Milan and Naples, are transitioning to a new appointment, payment and passport return system for visa applicants in Italy. The Mission has also announced that it is currently not possible to schedule visa appointments for any date later than July 12. Applicants who need to apply for a visa and have travel plans before July 18th have been advised to make appointments and pay their visa fees before June 28th. Beginning June 29th and through July 14th, the U.S. Mission in Italy will not process new appointment requests. Visa appointment scheduling will resume on July 15th under the new appointment system and the US Mission in Italy will soon specific details of the new appointment processing system.
E-visa Processing Introduced at Calgary Consulate

The Calgary Consulate General in Canada has introduced E-visa processing services for Treaty Trader (E-1) and Treaty Investor (E-2) applications from businesses in Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories in Canada. The Consulate has announced that first-time E-visa applicants can schedule a visa appointment in about 10 business days. Employees of registered E-visa enterprises and dependents of E-visa holders can schedule appointments as early as the next business day.
U.S. Mission in India Expands Interview Waiver Program to H-1B and L-1 Visa Applicants

U.S. Mission in India has announced expansion of the Interview Waiver Program which allows certain qualified individuals to apply for visas without being interviewed in person by a U.S. consular officer. Under the expanded program, certain temporary workers on H1-B visas, individual L-1A or L-1B visas, and students returning to attend the same school and same program may also be considered under the Interview Waiver Program.
US Embassy announces new system for visa processing in India

The United States Embassy in India has announced that it is implementing a new visa processing system throughout India that will simplify fee payment and appointment scheduling through a new website. A new website has been introduced through which visa applicants will be able to fill out application forms, find out what documents are required, pay visa application fees, schedule an appointment for biometrics collection, and schedule a visa interview. Applicants will be able to schedule their appointments online through the new website or by calling a call center. More payment options have been made available and applicants will be able to have their questions answered via telephone, email, or online chat.
US Embassy Mexico announces changes in E Visa Processing

The U.S. Mission in Mexico has announced two changes in the procedures for applying for and renewing E-1 Treaty Trader and E-2 Treaty Investor visas in Mexico. Firstly, after July 1, 2012, all review of E visa applications in Mexico will occur at the following three posts - U.S. Embassy in Mexico City; U.S. Consulate General in Monterrey; and, U.S. Consulate General in Tijuana. Secondly, all submissions of documents in support of the application must be organized and presented in the standardized format as described for E-1s and E-2s on the U.S. Mission website.
U.S. Embassy Consular Exchange Rate adjusted in India

United States Embassy and Consulates in India have adjusted the consular exchange rate from INR 56 to the dollar to INR 58 to the dollar. This new exchange rate becomes effective on June 04, 2012, and is effective for all rupee-denominated costs of applying for visas and passports, including the nonimmigrant visa application fee paid at HDFC bank branches prior to the scheduling of visa appointments. However, receipts there were issued by HDFC Bank prior to June 02, 2012 and which are still not more than a year old, will be honored.
