| Effective October 23, 2006, USCIS National Benefits Center has begun transferring K3 petitions to the California Service Center (CSC) and the Vermont Service Center (VSC), depending on the location of the related Form I130, Petition for Alien Relative. |
| USCIS to issue RFEs for over 10,000 Fiancé(e) petitions |

| In order to comply with provisions of the International Marriage Brokers Regulation Act of 2005 (IMBRA), USCIS will need to issue “Requests for Evidence” for more than 10,000 Alien Fiancé(e) Petitions (Form I129F) currently being held at USCIS Service Centers. |

| DOS has announced that it has returned to the NVC approximately 1,100 K1 petitions that were filed on or after March 6, 2006, due to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) failure to collect criminal background information. |
