USCIS Publishes Revised Form I-9

USCIS has published a revised Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 for use by employers. Effective 03/08/13, employers should begin using the newly revised Form I-9 for all new hires and re-verifications. Employers may continue to use previously accepted revisions until May 7, 2013. After May 7, 2013, employers must use only the new Form I-9. The revised forms are available in English and Spanish, but the Spanish version of Form I-9 is available for use in Puerto Rico only.
H2B Cap Count Update

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the fiscal year 2013 employment. As of February 22, 2013, USCIS has approved approximately 38,064 and 7,696H2B beneficiaries for the 1st half and 2nd half of FY 2013, respectively.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the fiscal year 2013 employment. As of February 15, 2013, USCIS has approved approximately 36,689 and 6,644H2B beneficiaries for the 1st half and 2nd half of FY 2013, respectively.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the fiscal year 2013 employment. As of February 08, 2013, USCIS has approved approximately 34,500 and 4,552H2B beneficiaries for the 1st half and 2nd half of FY 2013, respectively.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the 1st half of fiscal year 2013 employment. As of January 11, 2013, USCIS has approved approximately 21,688 H2B beneficiaries for the 1st half of FY 2013.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the 1st half of fiscal year 2013 employment. As of January 4, 2013, USCIS has approved approximately 18,996 H2B beneficiaries for the 1st half of FY 2013.
Temporary Protected Status Re-registration Period Extended for Haitian Nationals

USCIS has announced an extension of the re-registration period for Haitian nationals who have already been granted Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and who seek to maintain that status for an additional 18 months. The re-registration period is extended through January 29, 2013. Under this extension, USCIS will accept applications from eligible individuals who have already applied after the close of the re-registration period on November 30, 2012 and will continue to accept applications through January 29, 2013.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the 1st half of fiscal year 2013 employment. As of December 14, 2012, USCIS has approved approximately 13,774 H2B beneficiaries for the 1st half of FY 2013.
New USCIS Immigrant Fee to be implemented on February 1, 2013

USCIS has announced that on February 1, 2013, it will begin collecting a new USCIS Immigrant Fee of $165 from foreign nationals seeking permanent residence in the United States, to recover the costs of processing immigrant visas in the United States after immigrant visa holders receive their visa packages from DOS. The new fee is in addition to fees charged by DOS associated with an individualís immigrant visa application and DOS will provide applicants with specific information on how to submit payment when they attend their consular interview.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the 1st half of fiscal year 2013 employment. As of December 7, 2012, USCIS has approved approximately 12,496 H2B beneficiaries for the 1st half of FY 2013.
