H2B Cap Count Update
June 26, 2012
USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the 2nd half of fiscal year 2012 employment. As of June 22, 2012, USCIS has received filings on behalf of approximately 27,739 beneficiaries, and approved approximately, 25,810 H2B beneficiaries for the 2nd half of FY 2012.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the 2nd half of fiscal year 2012 employment. As of June 15, 2012, USCIS has received filings on behalf of approximately 27,450 beneficiaries, and approved approximately, 25,441 H2B beneficiaries for the 2nd half of FY 2012.
FY 2013 H-1B Cap Reached!
June 13, 2012
USCIS has announced that it has received a sufficient number of H-1B petitions to reach the statutory cap of 65,000 for fiscal year (FY) 2013. It has also notified that June 11, 2012, was the final receipt date for new H-1B specialty occupation petitions requesting an employment start date in FY 2013. USCIS will reject cap-subject petitions for new H-1B specialty occupation workers seeking an employment start date in FY 2013 that arrive after June 11, 2012. USCIS will continue to accept and process petitions that are otherwise exempt from the cap, DOD petitions and Chile/Singapore H-1B1 petitions requesting an employment start date in FY 2013. Employers (except cap-exempt organizations) desirous of filing new H-1B petitions will now have to wait until April 1, 2013 to be able to file again for a start date no sooner than October 1, 2013.

As of June 01, 2012, USCIS has received approximately 55,600 H1B cap-subject petitions and 18,700 petitions for foreign nationals with advanced degrees. USCIS has updated the count of H1B visa petitions received and counted towards the H1B cap for the fiscal year 2013 employment. As of May 25, 2012, USCIS has received approximately 48,400 H1B cap-subject petitions and 17,500 petitions for foreign nationals with advanced degrees.

USCIS has updated the count of H1B visa petitions received and counted towards the H1B cap for the fiscal year 2013 employment. As of May 18, 2012, USCIS has received approximately 42,000 H1B cap-subject petitions and 16,000 petitions for foreign nationals with advanced degrees.

As of May 18, 2012, USCIS has received filings on behalf of approximately 25,722 beneficiaries, and approved approximately, 23,548 H2B beneficiaries for the 2nd half of FY 2012.

As of May 11, 2012, USCIS has received filings on behalf of approximately 25,492 beneficiaries, and approved approximately, 23,024 H2B beneficiaries for the 2nd half of FY 2012.
