DHS Announces 18-Month TPS Extension for Sudan

The Department of Homeland Security has announced that it will be extending the designation of Sudan for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months from November 3, 2014 through May 2, 2016. Current Sudanese beneficiaries seeking to extend their TPS status must re-register during a 60-day period that runs from September 2, 2014, through November 3, 2014. Eligible Sudan TPS beneficiaries who re-register during the 60-day period and request a new EAD will receive one with an expiration date of May 2, 2016.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the 2nd half of fiscal year 2014 and 1st half of fiscal year 2015 employment. As of August 22, 2014, USCIS has approved filings on behalf of approximately 25,915 beneficiaries for the 2nd half of FY 2014.

USCIS Issues New Policy on Form I-693
June 5, 2014
USCIS has announced that starting June 1, 2014, it will limit the validity period for all Forms I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, to one year from the date of submission to USCIS. Applicants must submit Form I-693 to USCIS within one year of the immigration medical examination.
