USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the 2nd half of fiscal year 2013 employment. As of September 20, 2013, USCIS has approved approximately 28,173 beneficiaries for the 2nd half of FY 2013.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the 2nd half of fiscal year 2013 employment. As of September 13, 2013, USCIS has approved approximately 27,979 beneficiaries for the 2nd half of FY 2013.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the 2nd half of fiscal year 2013 employment. As of September 6, 2013, USCIS has approved approximately 27,731 beneficiaries for the 2nd half of FY 2013.
U Visa Cap Reached
September 07, 2013
USCIS has announced that it has approved the statutory maximum 10,000 petitions for U visa status for FY 2013. USCIS will continue to accept U-visa petitions and process them in the order in which they are received. USCIS will resume issuing U visas on October 1, 2013, the first day of FY 2014.
USCIS Implements New Identify Verification Tool in Field Offices

USCIS has announced that beginning September 9, 2013, it will employ a new verification tool called Customer Identity Verification (CIV) in its field offices. CIV will allow USCIS to biometrically verify a customer’s identity. The process applies only to those who have an interview or receive evidence of an immigration benefit. Under the process, customers will submit fingerprints and photographs when appearing at USCIS offices for interviews or to receive evidence of an immigration benefit.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the 2nd half of fiscal year 2013 employment. As of August 30, 2013, USCIS has approved approximately 27,649 beneficiaries for the 2nd half of FY 2013.
USCIS Reminder: Iraqi SIV Program to Expire on September 30, 2013

USCIS has issued a reminder that the authorization for the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program for Iraqi nationals, who worked for or on behalf of the United States government, will expire on September 30, 2013. The SIV program covers Iraqi nationals who, during the period between March 20, 2003 and the present, have been employed by or on behalf of the United States government in Iraq for a period of not less than one year. Individuals applying under this program, including family members, must be admitted to the United States or adjust their statuses before October 1, 2013.

USCIS has updated the count of H2B visa petitions received and counted towards the H2B cap for the 2nd half of fiscal year 2013 employment. As of August 23, 2013, USCIS has approved approximately 27,508 beneficiaries for the 2nd half of FY 2013.
U.S. Immigration Benefits for Same-Sex Couples: How to Apply?

A U.S. Citizen or LPR who is in a same-sex marriage to a foreign national can now sponsor his or her spouse for a family-based immigrant visa by filing a Form I-130 and any applicable accompanying application(s). A U.S. Citizen who is engaged to be married to a foreign national of the same sex can also file a fiancé(e) petition (K-1 visa petition) on behalf of the foreign national.
