Can someone who has recently required a finger print search in Canada please let me know how long it took to get.

Yes the consulate have now requested it, after there paperwork clearly stated that I don't require it..as per there procedure.. as I worked in Canada for 10 months.

Please advise time frame!!!

Hello..I had my fingerprints done at the RCMP office and sent off on December 11/03..it was then sent to the RCMP office in Ottawa and they advised me that the wait time is somewhere in the vicinity of 150 days..which is crazy...Some have said if you don't have a criminal record, you don't need the RCMP clearance with fingerprints, but everything I have read and heard tells me that you do..Even the RCMP tell me that as well. Best of luck

If you are a Canadian citizen and have no criminal record, a finger print check is not required.

If you are not a Canadian citizen but have lived/worked in Canada at some point, then yes you will need the finger printing done.

As for how long it takes, i've heard 150-180 days, don't know if anyone has ever received it in less than that time frame.
