Hello. I am a US citizen planning to marry a UK citizen in NY. He lives in the UK and I live in NY but have been going back and forth to visit. I had a horrible experience at Heathrow airport on my last trip back to the UK. They basically said the next time I enter the UK I need a visa or will not get in. I said I planned to get the spouse visa in NY after we are married in September. As it turns out, I will not have enough time after the wedding to get the spouse visa before we leave on our honeymoon. Is there anyway that I can get the official marriage certificate right after the wedding or does it alwyas have to go to Albany and take 15 days as this is needed to apply for the spouse visa? I also thought maybe I could apply for the fiance visa before the wedding in NY. Does my fiance have to be present and will I need his passport? My last option is to try to get the fiance visa in the UK since I am there now. Please respond if you have any suggestions as I am desperate!!
