Purpose |
To classify an alien orphan who either is, or will
be, adopted by a U.S. citizen as an immediate relative
of the U.S. citizen to allow the child to enter
the U.S. The petition is filed by the U.S. citizen
who is adopting the child. |

Filing Fee |
The standard filing fee for the I-600 is $720.
An additional fee for fingerprinting
may be required.
If the $720 fee is paid at
the time of filing a Form
I-600A, the fee is not required again to file
the I-600.
When more than one petition is submitted by the
same petitioner for orphans who are siblings, only
one set of petition and fingerprinting fees is required.
When more than one petition is submitted for orphans
who are not siblings, the $720
filing fee and fingerprint fees must be included
for each petition. |

Special Instructions |
- USCIS now requires that the Home Study be submitted with your Form I-600 application, if it was not previously submitted with your Form I-600 A application.
- When more than one petition is submitted by the same petitioner for orphans who are siblings, only one set of petition and fingerprinting fees is required. When more than one petition is submitted for orphans who are not siblings, the filing and biometrics fees must be included for each petition.
Note on Expiration: USCIS continues to accept the 11/23/10 version of Form I-600, despite the passing of the form's expiration date. An updated form with a new expiration date will be posted as soon as it becomes available
