do i need to notify USCIS about this? if so, which forms do i need to submit?
does my status as a permanent resident add any steps to the divorce process? does this affect my chances to get a citizenship after the standard 5 years have passed?
i basically dont know anything about the divorce process and its relation to immigration and permanent residency. we both want for the whole divorce process to be done and over with, but i need to know what to do about the issues above. any and all help is appreciated.

If you already have your permanent residence, USCIS does not care to hear about your divorce.
Any permanent resident can apply for U.S. citizenship within 5 years. Only those married to U.S. citizens can apply in 3 years. A divorce would only impact those trying to qualify under the 3 year rule.
