Default How to appel I-407?

Hello every body, and thanks in advance for the help you could bring to my familly in trouble at this moment.

My Familly got the GC few years ago when my wife was pregnant of our second son. Since we didn't have any job at the moment in USA, we went back to our contry where our son was born.

When back to USA, we learnt that since our last son was born abroad, he can't stay in USA as "legal". We filed I-130 for him in 2004.

In June 2005, this application was approved, and we were said that the last thing to do is to wait until a LPR visa number is available. Under these circumstances, we applied for the Reentry permit, hopping that until the end of this permit, we'll have got this visa number which didn't come. To avoid any trouble, my wife went back to USA before the expiration of the reentry permit, and went out again, but making sure the duration of her absence is not more than 1 year.

Last Thursday, back to Dulles airport, the immigration officer made her sign the I-407 for her and for my first son of 9 years old.

She didn't know what does all that mean, neither all the questions she got to answer.

It's only after that I realize, after reading informations on the internet, that I-407 is kind of abandoning freely our LPR status in USA.

Can someone help and let me know what I can do ro cancel this form and in which delay? Since last Thursday, neither my wife, nor myself, can't sleep on the fact that we loose our GC.

Thanks in advance to help us whatever we need to fix this issue.
Best Regards,
John
