I am a Canadian resident and citizen and lost my job in Michigan and filed for unemployment in Michigan as my HR told me too. I also handed the visa to the INS when I left the country.

My question is my TN visa expired on 30th of May 2008 and I cannot get a new one till I get a job . I got a letter from Mi unemployment asking me to submit a valid visa which I cannot do so till I get a job. My Unemployment that I have paid into for 10 years may be blocked as I do not have a valid visa.

Question one how do I handle this situation. Please only serious replies

Question two: Can i collect unemployment in Canada even though i have never worked in Canada but worked in Michigan but commuted daily without moving to michigan and paid us and canadian taxes
