DHS Announces Termination of TPS For El Salvador

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for El Salvador. The effective date of the termination of TPS for El Salvador has been delayed by 18 months to allow for an orderly transition. The designation will terminate on September 9, 2019.

Salvadorans with TPS will be required to re-register for TPS and apply for Employment Authorization Document (EAD) in order to legally work in the U.S. until the termination of El Salvador’s TPS designation becomes effective on September 9, 2019.
