The monthly Visa Bulletin is issued by the Department of State and reports on the availability of immigrant visas. It establishes the approximate waiting times to obtain an immigrant visa (Green Card), based on a petition that has been approved by the USCIS (I-130, I-140, I-360, etc.).
USCIS Processing Times
USCIS publishes the average Processing Times for each of its Service Centers. The Processing Times published by USCIS are an estimate of how long it will take for each type of petition or application to adjudicate at each of the Service Centers. USCIS handles cases in the order they receive and also developed internal turn-around goals for each type of petition or application.
Local USCIS Processing Times
USCIS publishes the average Processing Times for each of its Local Field Offices. The Processing Times are an estimate of how long it will take for the type of petitions and applications that are pending at the local Field Offices. The most common Forms handled at the field offices include Form I-485, Form N-600 and the Form N-600.
DOL Processing Times
The Processing Times issued by the Department of Labor are for the Prevailing Wage Requests of H-1B, H-2B and PERM applications, and the PERM Labor Certification which also includes Audit Reviews, Requests for Reconsideration and Government Error Reconsiderations.
