FY 2026 H-1B Cap Registration Opens March 7 – Act Now!

USCIS has announced that the initial registration period for the FY 2026 H-1B cap will open at noon Eastern on March 7, 2025.

Key Highlights:

  • Registration Period: March 7, 2025, to March 24, 2025.
  • Registration Fee: $215 per beneficiary.
  • Account Setup: Employers without a USCIS online account must create one to participate.
  • Selection Notifications: USCIS intends to notify selected registrants by March 31, 2025.

Beneficiary-Centric Selection Process:

USCIS will continue using the beneficiary-centric selection process introduced in FY 2025, ensuring each unique beneficiary has an equal chance of selection, regardless of the number of registrations submitted on their behalf.

Important Enhancements for FY 2026:

  • Paralegal Flexibility: Paralegals can now collaborate with multiple legal representatives within a single account.
  • Streamlined Client Management: Legal representatives can more easily add paralegals to company clients.
  • Pre-Populated Forms: Certain Form I-129 fields will auto-fill from selected H-1B registrations.
  • Bulk Data Upload: Ability to upload spreadsheets of beneficiary data to pre-populate registration fields.

Did You Know?

In the FY 2025 H-1B cap season, USCIS received approximately 470,000 eligible registrations but selected only about 135,000. This highlights the competitive nature of the H-1B lottery process.
