USCIS has received 483,927 H-1B registrations from over 48,000 prospective petitioners towards the FY 2023 H-1B cap. The number of registrations received, and the number of selections made in the H-1B lottery are as below:

USCIS calculates the number of petitions needed to meet the H-1B cap for a given fiscal year taking into account historical data related to approvals, denials, revocations, and other relevant factors. USCIS conducted three selections last year, in March, July and November, 2021. USCIS has not confirmed if there will be additional rounds of selections this year as well.
