With the official partial shutdown of the U.S. government entering the second week, here is a quick look at how the shutdown will affect various immigration-related services:

- USCIS: The shutdown should not affect USCIS, for the most part, as the agency is largely funded by user fees. As such, there should be minimal effect on petition filings or adjudications.
- Department of State: The DOS is continuing with scheduled visa services at the moment. It cannot be predicted, however, how long this will continue.
- Department of Labor: The functioning of the Department of Labor (DOL) is not expected to be impacted by the government shutdown as President Trump has signed an appropriations bill funding DOL through the end of September 30, 2019.
