FY 2021 H-1B Cap: USCIS Selects Additional H-1B Registrations For Submission

USCIS has started sending notifications to employers and their immigration attorneys informing them that certain H-1B cap registrations submitted by them in March 2020 have been selected for submission in a recently conducted selection of reserve registrations. Registration notices for these newly selected reserve registrations mention that H-1B cap petitions for their newly-selected registrations must be filed between 8/17/2020 and 11/16/2020.

Employers who have submitted an H-1B cap registration in March 2020 may login to their USCIS online account and check the status of their H-1B registrations for new selections. For the H-1B cap registrations newly selected now, employers must make sure to print the selection notice for the registration, and follow the given in the selection notice for submitting the FY 2021 H-1B cap petition, including instructions regarding the filing deadline.

No official announcement regarding this selection of reserved registrations has been made by USCIS yet, and it is also unclear if more selections would take place in future. We will continue to monitor the developments related to new FY 2021 H-1B lottery and will keep our readers updated.
